April reaches average (already)

This tri-chart provides a comprehensive overview of rainfall for Big Cypress Nat’l Preserve.  The top red bar chart shows rainfall in weekly intervals.  The middle chart shows monthly rainfall relative to the 30 year record.  The bottom chart shows yearly rainfall according to the “water year,” i.e. May 1st through April 30th, and color coded by wet (cool colors) and dry (warm colors) seasons.  Two points of interest: (1) Can you see how this April, at it’s mid point, is already at the long-term median? (2) With two weeks to go in the water year, rainfall totals from this dry season and last wet season have surpassed 50 inches, just an inch or two below last year.
