The intricate lattice weave added a special holiday touch |
Sea grape leaves served as ears — although a little too short — and red algae as straw. The eyes were of shells and whiskers of grass stems. A teenager approached me while taking the photograph: “Did you build it?” he wanted to know, immediately followed by “–Hey, I know you.” It was Cody from the old neighborhood. On the way back, some preschool kids had knocked a door in the basket, but the bunnies were still intact.
That’s good because tomorrow’s the big day.
