Not that I mind seeing a fox squirrel …
Just I was hoping to see my second panther instead.

Can you see a fox squirrel? |
You see, the first and only panther I’ve ever seen in the swamp – let alone anywhere in the wild – was about 9 miles up Eleven Mile Road. It was about 9 am in the morning about nine years ago when what I first mistook as a giant elongated dog (of Hounds of the Baskervilles stature) lackadaisically crossed the road twenty feet ahead. By the time I figured out what it was – which was the next instant – and grabbed my camera to turn it one (that took another two) …
It was all but gone.
My only regret is that I didn’t take a photo anyway.
Come to think of it, I was too scared to get out of the truck!
