Dry season starts early

Or did the old one never end?

More correctly the wet season hasn’t begun.

The hydrograph above shows water stage in the middle of Shark River Slough as measured at the P33 monitoring station.  The blue line shows seasonal stage variation over the past two years.  The dotted white line is the long term normal.  Horizontal color coded layers differentiate the elevation of the major vegetation types.  Variation in shading (dark or light) indicated the statistical record from 1993 to present.

Water levels in Everglades Nat’l Park are off the chart:

One foot below normal mid August heights and a foot and a half below the normal late September peak.

Am I mistaken or are the mosquitoes even low?
