Fall, spring, winter, summer

Although now officially spring,

March has made a strong case for being this winter’s coldest month.

While not a measure of winter by normal
continental standards, i.e. feet of snow, ice depth,
you know it’s a cold day in Fla’s south peninsula when
the daily high temperature doesn’t rise above 70 degrees,

a graph of the number of such days per year
1970 to 2013 is shown above.

A full half of Naples’ winter total of sub-70 degree days fell in March.
