It's located right along the road that goes south into Everglades City, but yes, you are right, it is remote by most standards. A distressed motorist once stopped me on the road in a panic asking where the next gas station was. She was relieved to hear me say just a mile down the road. It's a bad feeling to be low on gas in the middle of nowhere.
