I lived in Tampa during the Nino years of 97-98, and I can personally testify that it rained a lot – once for 14 days straight. I considered losing my mind – listening to raindrops hit the car roof day after day. Ended up going to Key West instead. 😉
Your blog is interesting, as I lived in various parts of FL for an insufficient time to determine what was “normal” precipitation.
I also recall far too much sewage being “accidentally” dumped into the Gulf, and the resulting health and environmental issues. And the legions of now bankrupt developers – oh how I remember those…
