(2) People are always amazed at how high flood waters can reach. At times of low water it can seem improbable, but rivers find a way of rising up and over the banks, into the flood plain beyond..

(3) Great point Pearl. That definitely gives me pause for thought … and goes back to my comment about flood plains.
