This April is now second on the historical list.
Only April 1989 was rainier. If I remember correctly that preceded the drought of record for the swamp. In fact, it’s the below average summer months that set the stage for severe drought as much (and even more so) as do lack of dry season rains.
The past couple of Junes, for example, have been sub par.
