That to plentiful February rains, river stage is just right for navigating through the tunnels. Toward the end of the dry season, the channel becomes too shallow to float a canoe on. And during peak water, usually late summer and early fall, river stage is too high to comfortably squeeze through, … not to mention the mosquitoes.
But right now conditions are perfect, and mosquitoes are scarce. So plan a paddle if you can.
