(1) Your definitely right, and that’s the beauty of comparative hydrology. It gives you a previous place to compare it to, making the differences “jump out” more obviously than if they only alone without a comparison piece.
(2) I’m still trying to figure the place out. It abounds with hydrological and ecological mysteries of all kinds. Recently I’ve found myself going back to square one: what my impressions were when I first “landed” in Florida … the ones on the post are what immediately came to mind.
