(N)ame changer?

I came across one of these and couldn’t recall it’s name:

“Oh, that’s a rolly polly,” a British beachcomber explained.

A rolly polly on Naples Beach?

Apparently, the technically correct term isn’t rolly polly, but rather olive instead, per its zoological place in the Olividae family. But why let scientific standards get in the way of a better descriptive term (and even if the name has already been given to a bug).

The shell looks more like a rolly polly than an olive to me.

There goes another rolly polly (aka olive)
disappearing into the sand

Sometimes you’ve got to listen to the tourists!
