The yellow flowers of Piriqueta cistoides subsp. caroliniana grace southeastern pinelands and short hydroperiod prairies in the U.S. as well as similar habitats in the Bahamas, Cuba, and Hispaniola. This plant is growing in the pine rockland of Everglades National Park. The plant is about four inches tall.
