This just in:
This May was the rainiest May ever in the history of Big Cypress Nat’l Preserve.
And if you haven’t noticed, we’ve been on a run of recent records:
- Last summer marked a new wet season “flood of record” with 70 inches of rain.
- We just ended our second driest dry season “drought of record” with just 5 inches of rain.
- And now, this May, we received a record 9.5 inches of rain.
And now its June:
Over the long-term, it’s our rainiest month.
