Unless you live in the northeast,
The Revolutionary War can be kind of abstract.

Can you guess Daniel Chester French’s other most famous sculpture? |
Even if you live in the northeast it can be abstract …
Because it happened so long ago.
What struck me about this statue at Minute Man National Historical Park in Concord, Massachusetts wasn’t its size, or even the setting – although it’s worth noting that the Concord River flows in eye shot from it – but what he’s holding in each hand: a muzzle in his right and in his left a plow.
None of the revolutionaries were full-time soldiers, at least not at first.
