Side note on this: the pinelands in the background are the highest (and driest) land in the photo. The marsh in the middle has the deepest water, possibly 2-3 ft in its center. The dwarf cypress in the foreground has maybe a foot or less of water, and if you look closely you can see the wetting front lapping up at the shores of the pinelands in the lower right.
