Swamp giants

Our giants of the swamps — the old growth cypress — reach around 80 ft into the sky.

That’s about a quarter of the height of the old growth Redwoods in the Pacific Northwest, which in turn are about a quarter of the height of New York City’s Empire State Building (not counting the spire).

The photos were taken along Big Bend Boardwalk in Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve.
