That's a good point Janie: stretches of long interstates sometimes retain their local moniker.
And yes, Joel — that's my point: from Miami to Naples the Trail is the way to go, but most people hope the interstate for the rest of the ride.
Side point:
There was a joke among Floridians back around 1915 that it, in jest to the outlandish name proposed for the Trail (which today is an institution), that the stretch of Route 1 from Jacksonville to Miami should be called the "Jackiami Joypath."
Floridians have a good sense of humor in general.
