Third ghost

Here’s the October Weather Summary for Naples, Florida.

Temperature wise, the month started warmer than normal, but it ended on a cold note. Naples set a new record low on the 29th!

As for rainfall, it started on a wet note (when over 2 inches on the 4th), but ended with a dry spell.

The result?

Naples totalled 4.6 inches of October rain.

That’s not too far off from south Florida’s 4 inch long-term October average …

Consider that the third hydrologic ghost we saw last month!

October is usually wet season high or dry season low, but when it lands right on the average … that’s a rare occurrence.
We call that in the industry a “phantom number.”
